Exploring the boundaries of experimental and the darker end of the ambient spectrum, DA ROCHA UM gives life to a unique sound palette that weaves grandiose and nostalgic components into an industrial and ethereal fabric. Informed by a wide range of genres, you might hear aspects of noise, religious music, traditional Galician and bass music.

“Axis Drift 01” is a selection of tracks originally composed for contemporary dance companies. Over the last few years, DA ROCHA UM has worked to document forms of sonic entanglement, capturing an essence of movement and body exploration by combining varied musical elements and turning them into emotionally rich compositions.

DA ROCHA UM’s compositions are a perfect accompaniment for dance performances; offering a unique richness and depth of sound, adapting and linking the movement of choreographic narratives. From moments of intense energy to others of a more introspective nature, the original pieces in “Axis Drift 01” have been used in productions of international companies: Kor’sia, Richard Mascherin, laSADCUM, José y sus Hermanas and LaGalga.
